Capital ships were the largest and heaviest warships in the Fleet. They encompassed vessels within the smaller sub-class Battlecruisers, to carriers, dreadnoughts and everything in between. The capital ship was thus typically the centre piece of any UTN Fleet, carrying the heaviest firepower and displaying the biggest presence. The deployment of a capital ship was often a sign that the Federal Navy is taking the situation extremely seriously.
