(Angel Nebula - Expanse) AS-E-1
A recently discovered solar system in the centre of the Expanse.
Discovered in 2739 AD by UTN Long-Distance Deep-Space recon probes launched toward the crimson barrier. The huge energy output from the system is detectable even from the core of the Aquarius Cluster with high-gain instruments. It wasn't until 4352 AD that the UAS officially surveyed the system as part of the Operation Eon Expedition.
AS-E-1 contains an extremely energetic Neutron Star at its centre, which is largely responsible for the powerful magnetic exclusion zone around the core of the system. Initial scans indicate an as of yet unidentified anomaly orbiting extremely close to the Neutron Star at an extremely high velocity. Further data is limited.
The system is notable due to its central location in the stellar phenomena called the "Expanse"; a huge swath of empty space where very few star systems reside, in a clearing to the north of the Angel Nebula. As such, the system is of great interest to UAS Scientists, who believe the event that created the Expanse and resultant radiation cloud originated in the AS-E-1 system, potentially causing the formation of its resident Neutron Star.

|| UAS Jump Drive Array Beacon (ASE1-JDAB-B1)
A subspace navigation buoy deployed by the UAS Federal Navy upon discoverying the system. The buoy orbits the Neutron Star ASE1 at extreme range, well outside of the dangerous magnetic exclusion zone. The buoy acts as a fixed exit-point for Subspace Jump Drives; allowing large capital ships to facilitate long-range subspace jumps to the system with a fixed, known-safe exit trajectory.
||Neutron Star ASE1
It is believed the Neutron Star at the core of the system is responsible for the high concentrations of semi-stable X-1 in the nearby cluster and surrounding verges of the Angel Nebula. The extremely powerful magnetic fields emitted by the super-dense stellar body are able to contain trace amounts of X-1 in its unstable, pure form. This is highly unusual and is not a trait shared by the few other Neutron Stars in known space.
Analysis indicates the stellar remnant formed from the collapse of a giant star originating from the Angel Nebula, which was expelled in an as of yet unknown stellar phenomena billions of years ago. The large concentrations of X-1 Polaryte in this region of space suggest potential Maikor involvement. Further study is required.
Extracting the stable X-1 elements proved to be difficult due to the extremely powerful radiation fields near ASE1. The UAS's Federal Space and Scientific Research Agency is currently studying the star.
