(Angel Reach) Helia
The system of Helia resides in a central location within the Angel Reach, G-West of the Central Aquarius Cluster. The system is of note as the seat of the former capital world of the Independent States of the Angel Reach (ISAR), which enjoyed a warm relationship with the incumbent Aquarian superpowers until its ultimate annexation in 4404 A.D, after transition to Imperial Power, with the instatement of the Imperial Treaty for the Governance of the Angel Reach.
Helia remains the capitol system of the ISAR Council, operating under the supervision of the Imperial Civic Development Program and the Regional Imperial Government. The system's small, main-sequence star is of little astronomical interest, however the planet of the same namesake is a temperate, human-tolerable garden world with extensive infrastructure development.
Being located in deep space between the Crimson Barrier and the Angel Nebula, Helia remains a key Jump Drive staging system, and a significant Imperial Navy presence is maintained in the system in protection of several concealed military station facilities. A permanent Jump Drive Array Beacon was constructed shortly after the arrival of Imperial forces and now acts as an official waypoint on the newly established civilian traffic corridors linking the Reach to Central Aquarius.

CLASS: Earth-like
SURFACE GRAVITY: 1.1 Earths
DEVELOPMENT: Extensive
HUMAN POPULATION: > 9 billion
NON HUMAN POPULATION: N/A
GOVERNMENT: Limited Federal Client Republic

ESTABLISHED: 2309 A.D
|| DESCRIPTION:
Helia Prime is the Capital World of the Helia System and seat of power for the former Independent States of the Angel Reach (ISAR). The world is slightly larger and more massive than Earth, but very similar in composition and Atmosphere which made it a prime candidate for development early in Humanity's foray into Aquarius. After the annexation of the Angel Reach by the Aquarian Terran Imperial States (ATIS) in 4404 A.D, the world remains the official capital of the newly formed ISAR client state, and represents the focal point of Imperial Terran interests in the Angel Reach. As such, the world plays permanent host to an Aquarian Imperial Navy dreadnought, flagship and command vessel of the entire Angel Sector Fleet.

ESTABLISHED: 2312 A.D
|| DESCRIPTION:
Helia 1 is a large rocky planet with a dense atmosphere that is considerably larger than Earth. It is comparable to Venus of the old Sol System in that the world's dense atmosphere and extensive geological activity trap significant heat over the surface creating a 'pressure cooker' environment, though it is slightly milder than Venus itself, the surface temperature exceeds 70 degrees Celsius consistently. The world would have been of little interest to human development during the early Expansion Era if not for the presence of significant deposits of rare earth metals just below the surface of densely-packed silicate sand. Due to the world's thick atmosphere and high gravity, the sand particles are firmly compacted and do not move around; creating a pocket of relatively clear visibility just near the surface. Conditions planet side are harsh but the world was the target of a small mining deployment in 2312 A.D by corporations from Helia Prime, with significant investment from the Old Federal-era megacorporation, Hyruuki Heavy Industries. Despite the harsh conditions, the mining operation has been a success and Helia 1's exploitation has proved valuable for the system's economy for hundreds of cycles.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this world isn't its mineral content, but the presence of a presumably human native tribal population known locally as 'nomads'. These nomadic tribes were discovered shortly after the first bases were established by the ISAR corporations, first encounters were non-hostile with the nomads appearing extremely timid of the new arrivals. As time went on, however, the tribes became more and more brazen, ultimately resulting in an armed confrontation with the ISAR miners during the late 4th millennium. Since then, the ISAR Military has maintained a permanent garrison planet side and in orbit, with the Helian Planetary Defence Forces carrying out routine patrols of the drilling equipment to deter any future confrontations with the 'locals'.
It is unclear where these nomads originated from, however theories have been presented that they are descended from the crew of an Old Earth-era expeditionary vessel that crashed on the planet after transiting the shifted wormhole some hundreds of years before the establishment of the Old Federation in Aquarius. With nowhere to go, the survivors likely became hermits and established their own society and culture with no connections to the rest of humanity. No successful contact has ever been made with the nomadic population.
|| INSTALLATION: Sahara Port (Helia 1-A)
PARENT BODY: Helia 1
ATMOSPHERIC TYPE: Artificial, Nitrogen-Oxygen, Breathable by Humans

CLASS: , Centric-class Platform (Modular)
SURFACE GRAVITY: 1.0 Earths
HUMAN POPULATION: 1500-2000
NON HUMAN POPULATION: N/A
GOVERNMENT: Limited Federal Client Republic / Corporate
ALLEGIANCE: ISAR/ATIS

|| DESCRIPTION:
Sahara Port is the only orbital infrastructure servicing the remote desert world of Helia 1. It acts as a logistics hub for ships carrying extracted minerals from the surface, and residential facility for the mining crews and their families. Since the altercations with the nomadic tribes on the surface, the ISAR Military has permanently stationed a Farlease-class light cruiser in orbit to provide orbital and planet-side security, along with acting as the command platform for all HPDF units operating planet-side.
