(Capital) Vujlcyon 'Volture' (HBT1) Battleship

A Heavy battleship and transport recently deployed by the VC's Trade Defence Fleet. 'HBT1' (Vuj: Volture) designs are based on pre-fall Old Federation Endeavour-class hulls, recycled by the VC under the Joint Reclamation Treaty of 4299 A.D established with the United Aquarian Systems.

A capital ship developed by the Vujlcyon Conglomerate from salvaged Endeavour-class hulls reclaimed by the Conglomerate through the JRC of 4299 A.D. As such, the vessel appears to be an amalgam of pre-fall UTN human technology and standardised VC technology as used on their purpose-built designs. Master salvagers, Vujlcyon engineers preferred to recycle existing hulls - such as those from derelicts or ship carcasses littered around Aquarius after the Fall of the UTN in 4040 AD and the aftermath of the Radacri Wars leading up to that event, as it is significantly more cost and resource effective than laying down a new hull entirely. The Volture was developed with assistance from UAS engineers, and represents the first in a series of healthy relationship agreements between the two species. The Vujlcyon were particularly interested in the Human warships' offensive and defensive capabilities, augmenting the existing hull's weapons array with VC-developed weapon hardpoints and replacing internal electronic systems with cargo facilities. As a result, the HBT1 is a less advanced vessel than the fairly old Endeavour Series 2 and 3 it is based on, but cheaper to build and deploy, while still packing a punch in a fight.

After the Joint Reclamation Treaty was terminated in 4404 A.D by the newly founded Aquarian Terran Imperial States, the Volture's development was essentially halted as no new hulls were available to be converted. However, under some stringent agreements with the new Imperial Government, the Vujlcyon Conglomerate continue to produce their own variants of the Volture in VC space, with a carefully agreed upon superstructure layout that doesn't compromise the details of the newer, ED-class Battlecruiser in service with the ATIS Imperial Navy; of which is based on the same Endeavour-class lineage as the Volture itself.

These vessels have become fairly successful in private deployments by Conglomerate trading entities, and are often seen moving heavy cargo around the Deep Red and beyond with a level of firepower and defence that almost no other transport can claim to possess. The Vujlcyon Conglomerate's military, the Trade Defence Fleet, continues to operate the HBT1 Volture in a role similar to a heavy cruiser, with an emphasis on medium to close range (CQC) and defensive of static installations should a war ever break out in the cluster.
