- Metro Exodus: Two Colonels DLC Playthrough with Ray Tracing. Part 3 (Final)
The final video in my playthrough of the first DLC for Metro Exodus; the Two Colonels. I cried twice during the DLC, so I guess I add this to my list of games that made my cry. It's on there with Gears of War 2 and 3, and Fable 2. Welp.
- Metro Exodus: Two Colonels DLC Playthrough with Ray Tracing, Part 2
Second part of my playthrough of Metro Exodus's first DLC: The Two Colonels. Oh my, right in the feels. Been too long since a video game experience gripped me like this one. Hat's off to you, 4A, it really is.
- Metro Exodus: Two Colonels DLC Playthrough with Ray Tracing, Part 1
So I started playing the new DLC for Metro Exodus, "Two Colonels", and I am so far, absolutely thrilled. It has been so long since a game like Metro Exodus has gripped me, and had me so excited to find out what happens next. My only complaint, is that it has to end at some point. :( Anyway, here is Part 1 of my playthrough with the new DLC. In these videos I went crazy and slapped the game to the maximum possible graphical settings, but with DLSS (so no increased shading rate, unfortunately). That is, Extreme quality for the game, Ultra RTX, and all the other features (except aforementioned Shading Rate) turned on. The performance has almost always been sub-60, but still playable. But it does look absolutely stunningly good. So bitch all you want (you know who you are!) about spending 400 pounds on a graphics card to play at sub-60 and not even 4K, but I don't care. This is the best looking, most realistic and breathtakingly beautiful piece of art of a video game I've ever played.

- Autism: Federal Order to Go Home Early
This basically sums up my experience at College. This is quite old, when I used to live in my old house. Anyway, I have redacted my name from this image as it is my old name and I don't like it and I hate it and it's not what I am called. But anyway I sent this letter to the Principal of the college. I was told by my support worker I had a bit of a reputation in the Staff Room. Huh, well I used to call myself the "Supreme Overlord" and require everyone to address me as such, I also used to tell my Support Worker about the UTN every single second, I think she eventually became an expert on UTN Naval Warships by the end of my time at college. Oh, and I had no friends. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Note: The date listed here, "5027 EMT (Eridonian Mean Time)" is not canon as I adjusted the dates to line up the major events. The UTN Fall occured in 4040 A.D. EMT and A.D are largely the same and thus the date is incorrect as of the time of publish. Also, this is absolutely not canon in any way, I mean you just have to read it to know it xD. Just thought I'd say that to make sure. If you are curious, they let me go home early. I guess a threat of military action by the galaxy's largest superpower was enough to convince them. Or, I guess, they just pitied me.
- Assorted Role Plays: Tyandirr Imperium Fact File
Fact file attempt for the Tyandirr Imperium, a race of aggressive, war-like aliens in the fork of the current universe, with the Volcyon Conglomerate Alliance. I never finished this one. Tyandirr Imperium Fact File Summary – The Tyandirr Biology. The Tyandirr are a predatory, bi-pedal, non-humanoid species hailing from the planet Tyanis in the Taran Nebula. They share many characterstics with reptillians - however they are not biologically reptillian. Tyandirr have two muscular legs upon which they stand, two arms, and two smaller appendages which protrude from their abdomen. These smaller appendages are tipped with razor-sharp blade claws, which the Tyandirr use for fighting. Average male Tyandirr stand around eight foot, and are highly muscular, as fighting is an essential part of the Tyandirr culture and heritage. Tyanis's strong gravity, dense atmosphere and volcanic enviroment have lead to the Tyandirr's strength and resiliance, their hides are coated in a biological armour developed to resist the acidic compounds in their homeworld's atmosphere, a trait they share with the Volcyon. Male Tyandirr have a quartet of clawed digits on their hands; these claws are several inches long and are naturally 'telescopic'; a muscular fibre coats the claw and allows it to be sheathed above their digit, giving their fingers a very boney appearance. When manipulating objects with detail, the Tyandirr must sheath their claws, though most males see sheathed claws as a sign of weakness. Females lack these muscle fibres, and instead have far smaller claw-like "hooks" on top of thier digits that they can motivate up and down, but do not interfere with fine movements of their digits. The Tyandirr skull is an angular tear-drop shape; large bone structures give it a ridged appearance, with the ridges meeting at the front of the skull, where a highly muscular jaw is present. At the rear of their skull, a bone structure curves upward similar to a crest, with males possessing a larger, red-coloured tip, and females having little to no curvature. The Tyandirr jaw is immensly powerful; it consists of a pair of inset 'sub-jaws' which allow the species to chew through even the toughest flesh, these jaws close to form a cross shape, with the outer jaw possessing large, razor-sharp fangs. The inner jaw is more serrated, and consists of multiple layers of smaller, equally as sharp teeth used to grinding flesh and hide. The females lack the developed inner jaw, and have significantly smaller teeth on their outer jaws. Tyandirr have four eyes; two larger sockets in the front of their skull, positioned slightly to each side, and a pair of smaller ones towards the rear, on the sides. This gives the species the ability to effectively see in full two-hundred and seventy degrees around them. Their eyesight is exceptionally good; Tyanis's thick atmosphere has lead to highly developed low-light vision and excellent motion awareness. Their eyeballs are a distinctive chrome colour, seeming to reflect a significant amount of light; this is due to a protective membrane over their eyes, developed to shield them from Tyanis's acidic atmosphere. Their skin is a metalic dark grey colour with a green-ish tint due to the microscopic fibres which make up their highly resistant hide. Male Tyandirr have distinctive red colourations along their bone structure, giving them a 'tattooed' appearance. The deeper these red colourations, the more distinguished the given male is, as high levels of chemical hormones within the Tyandirr blood-stream lead to stronger colouration; this is a sign of a male's dominance among the race. Females have a lighter colour skin, and no significant colouration. Tyandirr skin is highly resistant; capable of resisting incredible temperatures due to Tyanis's volcanic enviroment and high ambient heat. It is composed of a layer of microscopic fibres, that act as a 'biological armour'; allowing the Tyandirr to be exposed to temperatures and conditions that would easily kill other species. Tyandirr have an appendage similar to a tail, protruding from the base of their spine, which ends in a sharp boney ridge. This tail is a remnant of the Tyandirr's primitive history, and may have once been used for balance before the they evolved to a bi-pedal nature. Vital organs are protected by a hardened bone structure which forms a sort of "plate" over the front of the Tyandirr's abdomen. This boney plate is articulated in several areas, and allows movment without compromising strength. During sparring between two males; this plate often recieves massive trauma from the opponent's claws, leading to male Tyandirr having far stronger supporting muscles and tissue, and often heavy scaring; a symbol of their dominance. Tyandirr blood is a distinctive 'rusty' orange colour, as a result of the presence of large levels of iron compounds within their bloodstream; due to the large concentrations of the element in Tyanis's atmopshere and enviroment. Key Points ⦁ Tyandirr live for about 15-20 Tyandirr Cycles. Average life expectancy in Earth years for the average Tyandirr is 57 years. This is largely due to their culture; most Tyandirr will die of causes other than old-age. Biologically, the Tyandirr are capable of living for well over a hundred earth years, but Tyandirr older than 80 is a rarity. ⦁ Tyandirr are highly predatorial and immensely strong. In part due to their homeworld's harsh enviroment, but largely due to their culture. They are exceptional at fighting up close due to their biology and aggression. Culture. The Tyandirr are warlike by nature, fighting is part of their culture. Tyandirr society is built upon respect; stronger males command respect by fighting any who threaten their position, Tyandirr males may even fight over trivial matters, sometimes even leading to death if this pride is damaged. However, the structure of respect is usually stable, meaning physical confrontations are uncommon, but do take place as the structure shifts. Strength, pride and respect are the pillars of this structure. Tyandirr will often fight over females in traditional duels; these are no primitive competitions, but staged death duels whereby only one male will live, and he would be deemed worthy of the female. Tyandirr females are far rarer than males, making them crucial to this power structure. Female Tyandirr are far more relaxed, and often shy away from confrontations. Within Tyandirr society, the females are considered the most important symbol of status; they are not considered objects, but are treated with enormous respect and males will fight to the death to defend them; an instict learned due to their rarity in the species. Summary – The Imperium The Imperium, or Third Tyandirr Empire, is a massive unity of Tyandirr clan worlds and states stretching far across the Taran Nebula and beyond. The Third Empire was founded after the Third War of Unity, in which many smaller races were conquered and assimilated under the brutal oppression of the Imperial Tyandirr Government The origins of the Imperium as a state date back far before human civilisation developed; the First Tyandirr Empire rose from the warring clans of the Taran Nebula almost ten thousand years ago, after contact with a race known as the Volcyon inhabiting the Deep Red. The First Empire waged a war for control of the Nebula, and ultimately occupied every Volcyon world; incorporating them as thrall worlds within the new, Second Empire. Currently, the Third Empire is one of the largest and most powerful factions in known space, along with the Volcyon Conglomerate, and it continues to expand at an alarming race, as the Tyandirr continue their endless conquest of the cluster. After losing their colonies in the Taran Nebula, the Volcyon Conglomerate prefer to trade with the Tyandirr; purchasing their weapons and employing their mercenaries, and the two races co exist in a state similar to peace, albeit cooler and somewhat fragile, though openly they are allied. The Imperium tends to see the Conglomerate as a subordinate, and their original plans to conquer the Deep Red was, at least, postponed indefinitely as the Volcyon are useful for their manufacturing capabilities and 'mediator' status with the other, more powerful races of the cluster. Government. The Imperial government is an imperialist monarchy, with a reigning Imperial Family continuing to rule for thousands of years. The Emperor is always a male Tyandirr, considered the strongest and wisest of all. Foreign Policy. Tyandirr foreign policy hinges on how much of a threat the Imperial Government believes a given race to be. Lesser races are almost always forced into submission and assimilated into the empire. Larger, more powerful races create an uneasy relationship with the Imperium, whereby the Tyandirr simply tolerate them. Relationships with foreign species are almost always cool and revolve around military confrontations and suspicion.
- Assorted Role Plays: Black Talon
One of my many little forks of role play set in my overall universe. This isn't canon by the way. This is typed like a transcript from a communication system. Notice reference to "Soul-catcher"? This is a reference to a game that pretty much inspired the very first role play for "The Game" that me and my friend did back in school, and started the entire universe. That game is called "Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising". Nostalgia. Information sheet concerning the construction of the Black Talon. Engineers report construction is at 40% and proceeding to plan, however there have been some minor "issues" regarding its development. Our chief engineer reports intergration problems with the Core Neural Network and the tech units throughout the craft, she says it could be down to a worn/ missing sub-Bio-Matrix. Easy to replace? No. For starters we need to find a replacement part. Which is, well in the most optimistic way... Impossible. Secondly we would need to find the defective unit, ussually we would use the Diagnostic systems, but since the reserve circuitary and power grid is down, we're pretty much screwed. But hope is not lost, Kira believes she can fix our little "predicamnet" without a spare unit or fidiling with the broken one, yeah wow, i'm not very optimistic but she's proven herself on many occasions in the past to be very... lets just say "resourceful". Oh And Linx, you know when our sensor probe on the other side of the wormhole picked up those UTF ships last week? Well i have some insight into that, I did some research into the Soul-Catcher's databanks and found some files on her history in the UTF Navy! Talk about luck, but the files survived the re-install of the system core routines, some kind of encryption i think. But anyway about our "visitors", i dug out some Navy operation file called "Project Paralellius" high level stuff, you know? governmnet cover-ups? And after i bypassed the tri-leveled firewall i pulled out a file on the operation's vessel deployments! And thats when i stumbled upon a particularly interesting file called "Spirit Sheet" it contains data on some kind of alien ship, and well, yes, you probably guessed it by now... The Black Talon, apparently the UTF spent almost 34 years trying to find it, after their eggheads uncovered a map of unknown origin stored in some kind of a crystal And all this time, it was right here under their noses! Anyway i also picked out some files containing scripts that the UTF found around here and geuss what? they contain detailed info on the Talon's systems!!!! So, i forwarded it to Kira, and she practically kissed me for it (well worth the time i spent! haha!) and she said she can fix it, i told her to contact you asap. Right, i diagressed but it was important! about the UTF vessels, i found detailed info on 3 small task groups that were deployed to the Van-Kurr's belt to try and find the gate to the Talon's resting place (we found it by accident! haah!!) and our "friends" appear to be from the 3rd group code named "Sires". But heres the wierd bit, it states that they were dispatched from Andgate Docks in the Rellian System 3,500 years ago... thats around the time of the UTFs downfall, so the dates add up, but how come we just saw them? i KNOW FOR A FACT that that Frigate, the "Chester" by the way, has an operating life on self-sustaining of 10 years MAX, and does not have any means of facilitating cryo or generation management, not to mention those corvettes. you might think i miss-identified them, but nope, i triple checked and the IDs and ship serials plus names and schematics, all match 100%... wierd isnt it. I need to get back to work now, so cya later Linx. Serris Kusari Order of Souls Commander ........................................................................................... Hi Serris, thanx for the info, it has opened my eyes. i need to make this quick cos we're all meeting in the Catcher's atrium for a meeting on the current situation. hows the Soul Catcher holding up? i havent had time to sit down and check her systems, i trust you did right? also i need you to tell Feral and Kai to get their ships back in order cos i am expecting a little "company", Serris this is important. please dont tarry on this one. cheers Linx Kusari Leader of the Order of Souls .................................................................................. Linx, Serris told me what you wanted, and hey your the boss, you saved my ass more times than i can shake a photon enhancer tube at!, anyway, i know its a bit late but the Shark's all suited up and ready to kick ass, took me damn long enough to convince my crew that i wasn't pissing around, but i set 'em straight so everyone's ready, and i ran a check on our systems, the Shark may be old but shes a survivor, we're "a"-ok skipper as we used to say back in the TSRC Sc. fleet. ;D P.S All After cleaning about a foot of dust and grime of the bridge consoles! :P Kai Tenshi Order of Souls Captain CO. of "Shark" "Silence of the shark, grace of the swordfish" ............................................................................ Sir, the Sentinel is ready, we report combat readyness. Me and my crew are ready for anything, sir. Feral Order of Souls Captain CO. of "Sentinel" "Respect, unity, trust" .................................................. Linx, assuming the guys contacted you, i can say we are as ready as we're ever gonna be. The Catcher is holding up well, she's had a bit of a problem with her portside capactor grid, but the engineering team managed to patch it up (or so they said ;]). Its been ages since we fired up her main systems, i was almost expecting them to not start at all- but the Catcher is reliable that i can say! Apart from that little "hiccup" she's well within operating limits, and after a few diagnostic runs and tests, plus motivating the crew, she will be ready for anything, as Feral would say. Serris Kusari Order of Souls Commander ........................................................................... Serris, thanks for sorting everything out, i'll post you a brief on the meeting, 'kay? Linx Kusari Leader of the Order of Souls ....................................................
- Autism: I drew this when I was supposed to be working.
True story. Actually, the only job I managed to get was as a cleaner at the college in the town where I live. It was suited for me, because I could go in early and do my job and leave before the Students even arrived. I screwed that up though, the anxiety got me and I lost the job because I couldn't cope with a sudden change in their routine. That's just my life in a nutshell. Anyway I'm Autistic and I love GPUs, so obviously I had to draw an architectural, top-level block diagram for the GM204 GPU, at work on a piece of paper entirely from memory. >_>
- Assorted Role Plays: UTN Notes
This is a cool one. I think I typed this while I was supposed to be studying at college. Yes, because I spent most of my time listing science fiction and fantasy lore than doing work. Yet somehow managed to leave with passes and I think a merit? Anyway, this is a very much unfinished raw transcript, and as such some details (such as dates) are not listed, because I was yet to finalise them in the main timeline. This one is actualy a a very slight variation of my "main" timeline, where the UTN is wiped out by an unknown event. This is not too different from my current timeline, where they are almost wiped out by an Alien Invasion (read here). (I clarify it in the current timeline, it wasn't the Maikors) I guess I could say it is "Alt Canon"? Oh my, my universe is really fractured. Everything else here is canon. I really need to unify it, one day I will, and I will post it here. Maybe I will write a book on it. But I probably won't ;_; UTN NOTES ==========WEAPONS============================ ************************************************************* *************Mass Drivers************************************ ************************************************************* Mass Drivers are weapons that accelerate physical mass-based projectiles at high speed. The term can also be used to describe early 20th century gas-expansion weapons, but mainly refers to modern coil, rail and Fission Impulse guns. ************************************************************* **********Fission Impulse Mass Driver (FIMD)***************** ************************************************************* The FIMD, or Fission Impulse Mass Driver is a weapon system invented in by the Terran Space Research Corporation, that has been in use with the UTN Armed Forces since it's founding. The weapon utilises a controlled Nuclear Reaction to propel a solid projectile at high velocities. The projectile, often refered to as a "slug", is loaded into the firing chamber, after of which the ignition chamber is filled with a small amount of Nuclear fuel - essentially a 'pellet' of Uranium-235. A high-powered laser is then fired into the fuel pellet, inducing a nuclear reaction, which propels the slug. FIMDs are based on similar principles to firearms of the 20th and 21st centuries, but rather than relying on gas expansion, the slug is propelled by Nuclear energies, and thus achieves a much greater muzzle velocity. Fission Impulse derived weapons are used by all branches of the UTN Armed Forces, from handheld weapons to the main guns of warships. Despite being many thousands of years old, FIMD based weapons continue to be the primary weapon system, and have been constantly upgraded. The FIMD was replaced by the HMFIMD as the primary weapon of the UTN Navy, though many older warships are still equipped with the FIMD. -------------------- --Heavy Cannons----- -------------------- HC MKI "Shard" HC MKII "Bolt" HC MKIII "Blade" HC MKIV "Hammer" ----------------------------- --Rotary Assault Cannons----- ----------------------------- RAW MKI "Bolter" RAW MKII "Shredder" ----------------------------- --Point Defence Systems------ ----------------------------- PDS-100 "Defender" PDS-200 "Protector" ************************************************************ ****Hybrid Magnetic Fission Impulse Mass Driver (HMFIMD)**** ************************************************************ The HMFIMD is a development of the FIMD, first developed in but wasn't introduced until , due to manufacturing limitations with then existing super-conducting technologies. The HMFIMD utilises a Magnetic Accelerator built into the barrel construct that increases accuracy and muzzle velocity, similar to a coilgun. The HMFIMD is now the standard weapon system of the Federal Navy, and has been upgraded significantly. -------------------- --Heavy Cannons----- -------------------- HC MKV "Slammer" HC MKVI "Striker" HC MKVII "Perforator" ----------------------------- --Rotary Assault Cannons----- ----------------------------- RAW-MKIII "Obliterator" ----------------------------- --Point Defence Systems------ ----------------------------- PDS-300 "Guardian" PDS-400 "Praetorian" ************************************************************ ****Antimatter Impulse Mass Driver (AIMD)******************* ************************************************************ The Antimatter Impulse Mass Driver is the latest development of Mass Driver technology. Only recently developed by the Naval Research Labs, the AIMD utilises the Nuclear Energies released by colliding Matter with Anti-matter particles. Though this principle has been understood for many years, only recently has the technologies (especially particle containment) been ready for the development of an actual weapon. The weapon utilises a similar principle to the FIMD, with a fuel matter injected into an ingnition chamber, but instead of a nuclear explosion, a high-powered laser produces a positron (anti-electron) by firing into a hydrogen nucleus. This position is charged into an electric field where it is collided with an electron using a series of Partricle Colliders. The energy released is focused into the ingition chamber by powerful magnetic forces, creating an energy shockwave that propels the solid projectile at immense speeds, of up to .149 C. AIMDs are currently not in widespread use, as the UTN Navy has not officially adpoted the weapon into their arsenal due to efficiency, reliability and cost issues, but prototypes are being tested on a few specialist Navy Units. -------------------- --Heavy Cannons----- -------------------- HC MKVIII "Mataris" Mataris is the codename for the first series of the Mark Eight Mass drivers, using the new Antimatter Principle. Only a few of these weapons exist, and their development is highly classified. ************************************************************* *************Lasers****************************************** ************************************************************* Lasers use focused beams of light (photons) to damage a target, mostly through heat. Lasers as weapons first appeared in the 21st century, where they were mainly used to destroy missiles in early experiments. In 2041, the Western Alliance succesfully developed a ship-based weaponised laser system called Project Diamond. Due to the massive energy requirements of high-power lasers, Project Diamond could only be fitted to water-based navy ships with nuclear reactors. The innovation of the nuclear Fusion Reactor in 2049, pushed the boundaries of laser-based weapons even further. Lasers as weapons have developed considerably since Project Diamond, seeing use in the UTN Armed Forces from Point-Defence Pulse Lasers to Heavy Fusion Lasers designed to melt through warship armour. Though not in as widespread use as Nuclear/Kinetic weapons such as Fusion Impulse Drivers, the Laser remains an important part of the Federal Navy's arsenal. *********************************************************** ******************Phased Pulse Laser*********************** *********************************************************** The Phased Pulse Laser consists of between 8 and 12 individual high-powered lasers, firing together in quick succession to produce a powerful "pulse" of Laser energy. This weapon is utilised as a Point Defence weapon system against missiles, strikecraft, and even some kinetic projectiles. Like all lasers, the PPL superheats the target to cause damage, detonating stored ammunition and/or fuel and damaging the hull. Though the Phased Pulse Laser has been in use on specialist units for many years, it is still not the primary Point Defence Weapon System in use; multiple barrel high-rate of fire kinetic weapons are still the most widely used form of Point Defence used on Navy Warships. However, recently, the Navy launched a review of its equipment and the Phased Pulse Laser is expected to be installed alongside Multiple Barrel Kinetic weapons on all Navy warships within the next decade or so, due to recent findings. ---------------------------- --Point Defence Systems----- ---------------------------- EPDS-300 "Mask" The "Mask" series of Laser Point Defence Systems were the first fully operational systems of this type to fitted and used aboard Navy warships. First seeing action in during the invasion of Delta Aquarius, they proved to be mostly successful, despite a notably shorter range and higher energy consumption than traditional kinetic Point Defence Systems (though this was made up for by their immensely fast intercept speed, due to the beams traveling at the speed of light). The Mask has now been almost entirely phased out in favour of the more advanced "Storm" system, though some civilian corporations still use ex-military "Mask" systems for asteroid defence on un-shielded Rigs and Barges. EPDS-400 "Storm" The "Storm" series of Laser Point Defence Systems were designed to replace the agining "Mask" series units, mainly to address issues with range and excessive energy consumption. The "Storm" incorporates a more advanced emmission system, with a newer Glanium-Tritex Focusing Array, resulting in increased damage and range. Though the power consumption issue was only marginly improved. "Storm" systems are used extensively by specialist Navy units, and Red Sector, as their main Point Defence System. EPDS-500 "Lightning" The "Lighning" Laser Point Defence Systems are currently in development to replace the EPDS-424 units of the "Storm" series. Though very little is known about this system, prototypes are believied to be in use by Red Sector and specialist Navy Units, and is yet to undergo official field testing. *********************************************************** ******************Fusion Laser***************************** *********************************************************** The Fusion Laser is a heavy weapon system used by the Federal Navy. Utilising a sustained fusion reaction to produce enourmous amounts of power and radiation, which is then channeled into a focused emmission system, creating a powerful blast of energy. Fusion Lasers have a distinctive orange glow. The concept for a Nuclear-driven laser first started in the 20th century, but significant advances in the technology where not made until the later part of the 21st century, in which the Terran Space Research Corporation created the first fully weaponised "Basic Design" for a Fusion Laser, which was later adopted for use by the UTN Navy as an advancement of the Earlier TSRC Concept. Fusion Lasers are capable of creating an extremely powerful, focused beam of light energy, typically fired in one to two second 'phases', but some heavier lasers can sustain constant beams for up to five seconds; burning through even the thickest armour with relative ease. Fusion Lasers are powered by a Chemical Fusion Reaction that takes place within a containted unit built into the weapon system, apart from the pulse of initial energy required to start said reaction, Fusion lasers require a comparably smaller amount of power to sustain than a traditional solid-state or chemical laser. The effectiveness of the laser as an anti-capital ship weapon has been reduced signficantly with the introduction of new ablative composites that are able to resist and even negate damage by laser-based weaponry. However, anti-ship lasers remain in use by the Federal Navy to this day due to their main advantage; negligable fire-to-impact delay. Typically, any Fusion Laser with a peak output below 5GW is considered obsolete by the Federal Navy. ---------------------------- -------Heavy Lasers--------- ---------------------------- HFL-AS 5GW *********************************************************** ************Missiles, Rockets and Torpedoes**************** *********************************************************** Powered Kinetic mass-based projectiles such as Missiles have been an important part of warfare since the 20th century, where they began to replace heavy artillery on wet navies across Earth. The dawn of the space age saw the return to the Mass Driver (unpowered mass-based projectile) as the primary armament of most warships in space, but missiles, torpedoes and rockets are nonetheless an essential part of the Federal Navy's arsenal. *********************************************************** ************Ship-Launched Long Range Missiles************** *********************************************************** The Ship-Launched Long Range Missile, or SLLRM, is a Warship-based long range missile system typically used on most UTN warships, from frigates to Battlecruisers. The SLLRM System is capable of launching missiles with ranges in excess of 25,000 Kilometres, using Nuclear Solid-State drive systems to achieve high velocities during flight. The SLLRMs typically trade off agility for speed, range and payload, in the latter they are only surpassed by Torpedoes. SLLRMs have become an essential part of the UTN armament; being able to strike fast targets like destroyers at ranges that would render most mass-drivers inneffective, even if the vessel in question is performing evasive actions; this has earned the SLLRM the nickname "bane of the destroyers" by gunnery crews in the Federal Fleet. The SLLRM's comparably smaller payload when compared to a torpedo limits their overall effectiveness against larger, heavily armed warships such as Heavy cruisers, but are often used to disable their weapons or drives with precision strikes. SLLRM-15 "Shark" The Shark is an aging Ship-Launched Long Range Missile, used extensively during the First Era of Expansion against CEG forces, it quickly proved itself effective. Though the Shark is now considered obsolete by the UTN Navy, variants are still in service with reserve fleets. Though used by reserve fleets (though is shceduled for stockpile withdrawal), the Shark is considered too slow for use in modern engagements due to it's basic Fission Solid-State Drive system. The Shark uses a primitve thermal guidance system, though low cost and fairly reliable, the system is easily fooled by contemporay Passive Countermeasure systems, and despite many upgrades to both the payload and guidance system (The SLLRM-15E was fitted with a Cross-Section Phased Microlaser Guidance system similar to the Hunter) the missile was eventually phased out of front-line service in favour of the more advanced "Hunter" missile. SLLRM-30 "Hunter" The SLLRM-30 Hunter Long Rang Missile was developed to replace the aging Shark, most notably it's payload and guidance systems which both proved to be lacking during engagments with CEG forces almost one hundred years after the Shark was developed. The Hunter is essentially a re-designed Shark, using the same basic frame, but with improvements to all the major aspects. The Hunter missile uses a CSPM (cross-Section Phased-Microlaser) Guidance System as standard, and an improved Fusion Pulse drive motor affording increased agility, speed and acceleration over it's predecessor. The Hunter's payload is almost two-thirds greater than the Shark's, as it makes use of a Compacted Pyrolium Oxide Explosive Warhead. The Hunter has become one of the most widely used Missiles in the Federal Navy, and is currently the most numerous unit in service; though officially replaced by the Spectre, the Hunter is still widely used by Front-Line units for it's lower cost and excellent reliability. SLLRM-40 "Spectre" SLLRM-42 "Wraith" ============================================================= ==========SHIELDS============================================= ============================================================= ************************************************************ ****Particle Shield***************************************** ************************************************************ Particle shields utilise the theory of Particle Fields to create barriers of energy, which are capable of protecting against damage. Particle shields are known collequally in the UTN as "shields". ************************************************************ ****Warship Classes***************************************** ************************************************************ ---------------------------------- ----Nebula Class Light Cruiser---- ---------------------------------- The Nebula-class Light Cruisers were developed in 4716, to replace the earlier Nova-class Light Cruisers. While successful, the Nova-class (being designed in 3910 to replace the earlier Farlease-class) was showing it's age, mainly with it's relatively small armament of only 2 "C" Double and one "D" Triple type turrets in it's main battery. This limitation became apparent during the Shesko Border Conflict, in which undergunned Nova-class cruisers came up against heavier CEG remnant warships of the Medium-cruiser class. Novas had been upgraded over the years, but superstructure limitations prevented the addition of a much needed heavier main battery. This led the to development of an entirely new class to replace them, to address the need for a light, fast cruiser with a heavier armamnet for use with Forward Expeditionary Groups. Designed by Federal Shipwrights in Lorentis, the Nebula-class addresses the limitations of the Novas, and has become one of the most successfuly and widely used cruisers in service, with many derived classes of dedicated warships designed from them. In order to accomodate the heavier armament of four "C" Type Double Turret mounts, the Nebula-class needed an entirely new, longer superstructure. This increase also means that the Nebulas are heavier than their predecessor. To counter this increase in size, the Nebula-class has a newer, more advanced drive system using the innovative Hybrid/Fusion reactive system. The Nebulas also feature the PARALAX FCS/EWS, which replaces the older AEGIS system. The Nebula-class bears significant improvements in almost all areas to it's predecessor, notably in armament and powersupply; the Nova-class's old Dual-Core P500 8-Cell Fusion reactor system has been replaced by a state-of-the-art P700 Dual-Core 12-Cell Hybrid/Fusion Power Pack, that provides over 40% increased output and efficiency. The class has also seen improvements its armour; possessing greatly improved Plated Elemental Armour, over the Ceramic-Alloy armour of the Nova-class, the thickness was reduced to compensate for the extra weight of the main battery, but the armour design still grants around 12-14% better resistance to damage than the thicker C/A plating. The Nebula-class has been used as a base for several other classes of dedicated Light Cruisers in the Federal Navy, such as the Hariken-class Light Missile Cruiser, and the Echleon-class command cruiser. ------------------------------------------------------ ----Centurion-class Embarked Combat Utility Vessel---- ------------------------------------------------------ The Centurion-class ECUV (Embarked Combat Utility Vessel, or simply CUV) is a class of frigate specifically designed for operations from larger warships such as carriers. ******************************************************************************** *******************EVENTS OF 5036*********************************************** ******************************************************************************** --------------------------------- ---------Fall of the UTN--------- --------------------------------- The Unified Terran Nations, a powerful and proud civilisation of old Terra, could've almost been considered invulnerable by the late fifty-first century; a powerful fleet, a mighty economy and certainly a capacity to defend itself against all comers. This was proven during the 5025-5030 Illuvian War, when forces of the Old Federal Navy fought off a seemingly superior alien enemy in terms of both technology and numbers. One would've been forgiven for thinking that the Federation could stand up to any alien force, no matter how powerful... But how wrong they would be. On March 9th, 5036, the future UTN was changed forever. At exactly 07:52 + EMT, Naval Intel Satellites in the outer sectors picked up an energy spike originiating from the very core of the UTN, the seat of power. Eridonia. The energy surge was so great, that within seconds the satellites were knocked out, worlds fell silent and entire fleets were wiped off the grid. The events that destroyed the UTN has we knew it, had started. Some believe it was a terror of our own creation, others that it was an Illuvian Super weapon; used against our people in revenge for the war, some even believe that an ancient Maikor Experiment had re-surfaced to ravage our civilisation... No-one knows for sure... But what we do know is, that 500 years later, we the Loyalists of Terra, continue to fight for freedom, our way of life... We fight to re-build what we once had. And we will not give up hope. ------------------------------- ----The Wasteworlds------------ ------------------------------- The wasteworlds, (first coined by the initial survivors) are the remnants of the ancient UTN sectors. The blast that destroyed the Federation was so great that the core sectors, known as the Hell Worlds by survivors, are completly destroyed. Entire planets had their atmopsheres wiped away by the blast, and the space around them remains (even to this day) so highly irradiated by as of yet unknown contaimnants that ships without shielding have thier hulls stripped away in minutes. As of today, only the Loyalists have the technology to even enter the Core Worlds, and even then, not for extended periods of time. Though the outer sector Worlds were spared total destruction, their surfaces were battered by the shockwaves; cities crumbled into nothing more than ruins, orbiting facilities destablised and fell into the atmosphere, only adding to the destruction. It was these worlds where survivors emerged from the ruins to what had become of their civilisation. The Space inbetween these worlds, once filled with mighty Space-Lanes and huge Trade Ports, is now nothing but a barren wastefield. The ruined debris of ancient structures litters the space, a graveyard of the old UTN's interplanetary infrastructure. It is within these junkfields that the illusive Junk Dogs work their business in these times. Salvaging what they can to use, or sell. Mostly to the Marauders, who pay for old weapon parts and warship hulls to fuel their never-ending war with one another... And on occassion, the mysterious Loyalists buy certain, select pieces of junk... ------------------------------- ----The Marauders-------------- ------------------------------- Marauders is a name given collectively to the marauding, pirate raiders who roam the Wasteworlds. Their exact origins are unknown, though it is believed that they originated from a mixture of the surviving guard fleets of the old Federal Navy who decended into anarchy after the UTN government fell, and pirate clans from the Angel Reach who moved in to capitalise on the destruction. The Marauders are made up of numerous clans, who are constantly at war with one another over territory, junk and even slaves. Survivors of the destruction know well to avoid the Marauder territories, which lie to the G-west of the Outer Wasteworlds, towards the Angel Reach. Marauder clans often pillage, loot and destroy settlement ships, and even enslave their occupants. ------------------------------- ----The Survivors-------------- ------------------------------- Known collectively as "Survivors", these are the every-day people who survived the destruction. For the most part, they just want to try to scratch out an existence in the new world. Suvivors inhabit the city ruins on most of the Outer Wasteworlds, but many survivors also travel the wasteworlds in converted pre-blast Cruise liners and other ships re-purposed to serve as floating settlements. These are known as "settlement ships". ------------------------------- -----The Terran Loyalists------ ------------------------------- The Terran Loyalists are a faction that rose from the ashes of the fires that swept the UTN sectors in 5036. Descendants from the Old Federal Navy who remained loyal and Red Sector, the Loyalists are a proud and traditional faction; dedicated to preserving the old Terran way of life, and fighting to re-build the UTN as it once was, before the fall. The Loyalists were formed in 5040, from remnants of the 1st Federal Grand Fleet that fled to Red Sector-319 as the fires that destroyed the Federation still raged. Red Sector-319 was spared the worst of the destruction due to its location; and as a result, the Loyalists possess the only known operational shipyard in the Wasteworlds. With the central government of the Federation completely anhiliated, Naval ships that retreated to Sector-319 united under the command of Admiral Vladimir S., and would quickly establish a base on the world of Eta Seralis, in order to plan their next move; locating any surving members of the old UTN government. Upon arriving in orbit over Eta Seralis, the Admiral Vladmir S.'s ships encountered the remnants of the Red Sector Force Beta, who were themselves without a command structure. The Red Sector command were all killed during the initial blast. Beta had deployed probes to Eridonia prior to the arrival of Vladimir's fleet, and upon learning of the news, Vladimir knew what had to be done. If the UTN was to survive this, they'd need a government. It would be four years before Vladimir formed the Terran Loyalists, their name comes from a famous speech made by the Admiral: "We, the Loyalists of Terra, will fight for our way of life. It is us, who will prevail, not those mindless dogs who taint our proud nation's history! Unite, my comrades and we shall be great again!". The Terran Loyalists were born. The Terran Loyalists are the most technologically advanced, best trained and equipped faction in the Wasteworlds of the old UTN. Directly descended from the Loyal 1st Grand fleet of the Old Federal Navy and the Red Sector Force Beta, the Loyalists have access to technology that has since progressed to levels beyond what even the ancient UTN had at their disposal. The Loyalist homeworld is the cold winter planet of Eta Seralis, the only habitable planet in the Red Sector-319. Eta Seralis orbits an enourmous gas giant known as Eta Major. Despite their technological prowess, the Loyalists are also one of the smallest factions; their fleet barely has 200 combat-ready warships at one time, so they tend to avoid direct combat with the far more numerous marauder clans unless absolutely necessary. Though the Loyalists have enough firepower to easily wipe out an entire clan of the marauders with little effort, a direct attack on one of the dozens of clans could potentially unite the warring pirates against the Loyalists; and even with their advantage, the sheer numbers of the pirates would likely prevail.
- Assorted Role Plays: An alt. Backstory to the Original Universe (feat. my Best Friend's Faction)
I am sure my best friend doesn't mind. UK1 is his faction, and this piece represented one of the "restarts" to the story (I changed my faction a lot) and backstory to that situation in our Original Universe (known to us simply as "The Game"). We used to Role Play with lego space ships and had some amazing adventures and I will fondly remember them. This piece is very old. An original concept, it is not canon in any way but it is a nice piece of flavour I guess. I say because in this piece the faction is "UTF" (Unified Terran Federation), this is indeed very old, over a decade ago, as canonically the faction is "UTN" (Unified Terran Nations). In this piece I am using the "OSN" as my faction, which is not canon of the current timeline. Oh and don't get me started on the UTE, seriously lol... it's a bit of a fustercluck but I will make a post on it some day to explain :D You have been warned! O_o In 2078 the old nations of earth, inevitably entered the Fossil Wars, a war driven by each nations desire to claim the last remenants of carbon fuel that remained un-mined. Entire empires were brought down by the lack of a clear liquid, for without it, their machines of war would be rendered useless. And the lack of an empire's military inevitably led to its downfall, the war raged for so long many of the nations forgot why they were still fighting for something that had already vanished. In 2099 the Earth was reduced to all but a smoldering shell riddled with craters from the weapons of those too greedy to consider the ultimate effect of this conflict. At the Turn of the century, 2100, many of the Earths nations had fallen and been lost forever, entire cultures destroyed, billions of lives ended. However, due to the change in enviroment and mainly the lack of a fuel that had powered there way of life for so long, the remaining nations of earth were forced to adapt to their new world, a barren war-torn world. In 2103 the remaining nations declared a cease fire and the prospect of peace glimmered in the minds of those that had the most suffered: the people. Even though the nations no longer waged war with each other, they secretly planned their escape from earth, into space, and in doing so the destruction of the other nations, for war never leaves humanity. Each nation seeking a "fresh" start free from the corruption of its rival nations drove them to develop the first true space warships. In the year of 2135 the surviving superpowers of earth united to form three massive factions: the UTF, the Unified Terran Federation was formed from what used to be the USA and Canada, the UTF was a federal power led by the former US president, it was by far the largest faction, and it seeked to unite humanity under the president and enter space a unified race where a new life could be built. However as the UTF developed it became more like an Empire than a federation, enforcing its will with sheer military might. In 2140 it became the UTE the Unified Terran Empire, and seeked to enforce its oppressive rule over all of humanity. Many rebelled against this new military state, and in turn many where killed because of it. UK1, UK1 formed from what used to be the United Kingdom, it was a diplomatic state, a fair state where its citizens could live in saftey, or so they thought. During the years after its formation, UK1 began to shine at developing new and advanced technologies for civil and military use. Despite being the smallest faction, UK1 had an impressive military and was the first earth based faction to develop a true space fleet, the 1st Fleet. UK1 intended to escape the corrupt influences of the other superpowers and begin a new age independantly, a fair democracy in which humanity could thrive, and still be safeguarded from threats by a powerful navy, UK1 quickly created a navy and gained earth orbit superiority, they began construction of a huge craft, in fact they would retro fit the biggest man-made object in existance, the UK1, an immense mobile mining station built by the UK and her allies before the Fossil Wars to search for new deposits. But she was never fininshed and was abandoned in her cradle; the Space Arche a huge dock built around the moon. UK1 was the first to leave earth, they evacuated their population and boarded the UK1 Station, which after only a few years headed for the stars with a mighty fleet, and entered a new age. the final faction, but not the least, the OSN, the Order of Sereneian Nations. the OSN had infact left earth many years before the Fossil Wars even began. back then they called themselves "the free peoples alliance", for centuries they had been researching space-side technologies whilst the other nations waged war with each other. in 2061 the FPA left earth completely un-noticed onboard the Serenesis, a highly advanced ship that carried over 50 million people into the stars. they settled in a new system far from earth, after using the first "jump drive" that they had developed, they named their new home system Serenesis after the vessel which brought them there. After hundreds of years the FPA thrived in the Serenesis system, and developed the first shield and energy weapons, centuries before the other factions even considered it a possiblilty. until eventually they formed the OSN, a unity of the nations of Serenesis, OSN had space warships equiped with shields and amazingly advanced technologies even before the other factions left the earth. the OSN was most certainly the cornerstone of human inovation. after many thousand years of prosperity, the OSN became, despite the peace, more powerful, utilizing entire fleets of warships equiped with amazing new technologies to ensure the protection of its people. at the present day, the UTF/UTE was eradicated, UK1 now thrives in its own sector of space and continues to advance its technoligies. the OSN was completely unknown to UK1 who did not even know if its existance, let alone its technolocial prowess that surpassed UK1 tech by several thousand years. OSN still thrives today, however, it has set its sights upon a new target, one that would, if destroyed, would be sure to bring about OSNs domination over all of humanity...
- Assorted Role Plays: Maikor Warships (early)
A fact-file attempt for the various incarnations of the automated combatant drones and vessels that once served the Great Maikors, and remain in the universe from billions of years ago. By the way, the Maikor Drone ships were inspired by the Progenitors from the Homeworld games. <3 This is an older piece due to my wording on the Maikors. In later more recent role plays i emphasis the mystery more, and I actually left a lot of their backstory and lore delibetately vague, to add a mystery to them, and maybe allow them to develop on their own as the Role Play progressed. Maikor ships: Drone - A small, fast and very agile craft. Drones are the most common of all Maikor ships and are usually seen gliding through debris fields and asteroid belts. As with all Maikor ships, very little is known about the Drone except for the fact that it can asimilate and construct Maikor tech. They are believed to be a builder or a worker ship, and probably helped build the original maikor empire. Despite this, Drones are relativly heavly armed and present a real threat to any smaller civilian and even military vessels. Due to their speed, they are also believed to be used by the Maikors as scouts, capable of establishing a significant Maikor presence in a distant sector in minutes without the need of heavy convoys or jump-gates. Defender - The Defender is very numerous in Core Maikor sectors, where it is usually seen escorting Drones to and fro asteroid belts and in some cases, even Maikor Dreadnaughts. Info on this craft is minimal, but reports on encounters and scientifil analysis indicate it probably is the Maikor equivilent of a frigate or heavy corvette in role. But as with most Maikor ships is significantly smaller and much more advanced than human vessels of the same "type". The Defender is heavily armed and armoured and serves as the light combat craft of the Maikors. It poses a very significant to human vessels of any size and type, as it ussualy travels in "packs" of about 3-4 craft, making it highly efficient in battle. Unlike the Drone, the Defender is equiped with a Maikor shield and high grade Maikor weapons. Despite their huge armament and defenses, Defenders can fly circles around a Hawk class light scout corvette despite being almost twice the size. The Defender is a good example of the total technological superiority of the Maikors over terrestrial life. Guardian - One of the most well known Maikor ships, Guardians, as their name suggests, are almost always seen in close proximity to important Maikor artificacts and relics. Also, the Guardian is the most understood Maikor ship due to their presence near the artifacts that humanity as shown great scientific interest in. The Guardian is the "Vanguard" of any Relics of Maikor culture, designed by the Maikors to safeguard their species's culture and way of life for eternity. And for this very large task, they are equipped to the extreme with advanced Maikor weapons and shielding. Posessing a single Maikor Dreadnaught Cannon, the Guardian is lethal. Even a single Guardian presents a huge threat to a large military armada, and is best left un-provoked. The Guardian won't attack any humans or terrestrial life as long as they leave the relics it guards where it rests. However they seem to allow analysis and examination of the relic. Hunter - Almost nothing is known about the Hunter, save its name. Although research has indicated that it is probably a warship, maybe the Maikor equivalent of a cruiser. The Hunter is rarely seen, but on the few occasions where it has been encountered it was very quickly established that this craft posesses extreme destructive capabilities. Stalker - The Stalker is one of the first "2nd generation" Maikor ships, and is about the same size as the Defender, but posesses far different technology. Believed to be a deep recon or scout of the Maikors, the Stalker possesses an yet unknown cloaking technology and can remain un-detected anywhere any time. The only way we can see them is if they want us to. Due to this, the Stalker remains somewhat of a mystery to scientists. Super Dreadnaught - A true embodyment of Maikor supremecy, this beast's terrifingly powerful weapons are only matched by its sheer size. The Super Dreadnaught is the Maikor's answer to angry gods, and posesses the power to destroy entire solar systems. Super Dreadnaughts are the un-matched, un-stoppable, fearless and ultimatly powerful weapons of the Maikors. The ablity to carry a large fleet of Dreadnaughts, Hunters, Defenders and Drones, coupled with weapons of un-imaginable power and technology so great that it rivals gods, the Super Dreadnaught truely is invulnerable. Only one Super Dreadnaught is known to exist, and is deep in a sealed system, it was appropriatly known as "the Devestator" It is believed that the "Devestator" took as long as time itself to construct, and is the only Super Dreadnaught in existance. However, recent studies of nearby galaxys, and even the milkyway have revealed that the core of every galaxy, the singularity that everything seems to orbit, is not a natural formation...
- Assorted Role Plays: Gate 392.
This is an old one. I made this many years ago, it is about the Aurc, one of my sci-fi factions. In this piece they are based on my original concept of human-decended, but in later role plays I changed their lore to be an elusive Alien Race believed to be decendant from the "Great Maikors"; a god-like (Hint: Kardashev IV+) race of energy beings that legend stated created the known universe. Anyway, it's short and I can't remember the exact context, but I found this piece in my old hard drive. I consider this not canon of my current universe, as stated above. But it is a cool insight into what I was typing back then. As the armoured warrior fell to his knees, the only thoughts that filled his mind were ones of his daughter. He had faught this war for her, he had slain many a beast for the Order, in the name of humanity. But it was truly in her name for which the warrior faught. As blood poored from his wound, he felt a strange calm. His mind became peace, his body one with the ashes before him. The beast who had stricken its prey, would not wait for his final words. Rentai died a hero, but it was his sacriface that has saved so many. As Gate 392's mighty blast door heaved and grinded, a black shadow in the lights of the Great City was cast upon the killing field where the warrior lay. His final vision was that of the Gate sealing shut, forever locking away the people of Aurcor, and his daughter. The Aurc were no strangers to war. They had seen suffering since the first times. Rentai's death would only serve to strengthen their morale.
