A series of animations relating to the vast inter-district high-speed monorail system that linked essentially all areas of the mega-metropolis city-world of Eridonia, the former capital of the Old Federtation. Mostly because I like trains, and I wanted to do an animation series around the trains in my universe. I have some more train-related animations planned in the Post-Fall setting (Like in the Ruins of Eridonia series), mainly following Scavenger Families that survived by riding the old rail system across the ruined city tiers on Traction Recovery Locos (known as 'catapillars'), you can see one of these very briefly in this animation, parked at a junction point near the end of the video. It's important to note that after the Fall of Eridonia, the monorail system is essentially non functional due to damage to the rail power delivery system. Catapillars, on the other hand, had actual physical wheels so the Scavengers could use them. Anyway, I digress.
This animation covers a short (approximately 5 minute) trip from Earthway Residential District 1A, to where this line terminates at Archives Plaza Terminus Station. The Archives Plaza was essentially the heart of the capital districts (the main hub of the city world) and had these high-speed monorails branching out to all areas of the city like a spider's web from the centre.
Archives Plaza was largely separated from the rest of the city tier system (by the huge metrovalley seen in this animation) and was built with an auxilary, mechanically-operated tectonic stabiliser system and reinforced layers due to the district hosting the Federal Senate, Presidential Building and the Eridonia Archives themselves (containing the collective knowledge of all human scientific and cultural achievements). The district was designed to survive an orbital cataclysmic event (such as a comet impact). As such, the Archives Plaza district (Due to its importance to the Old Federation, and the presence of the Archives Complex) is the primary surface base of operations of ATIS's Eridonia Task Force detachment of the Imperial Planetary Forces operating on the world some 400 years after the Fall.
