(Event) The Second Battle of Eridonia (first stage)

The Second Battle of Eridonia marks the first time alien forces engaged human forces within the Aquarian Core Systems. The First Battle of Eridonia is widely considered the liberation of Eridonia from the Tigersharks Cartels by the Terran Loyalist Alliance during the Freedom Campaign in 4100 A.D.

The Second Battle of Eridonia is separated into two stages in the archives, the first stage being the arrival of a small Tyandirric Fleet during the cycle of 4512 A.D, shortly before the Imperial Navy successfully tested the 'Supernova' Weapon of Total Destruction (Star-killer). This small fleet may have been a picket force to probe human defenses and collect intelligence data; but was destroyed by a highly prepared and dug-in response from the Aquarian Imperial Navy's Eridonia Sector Fleet 1st Rapid Response Force, including the Dreadnought 'By Their Sanction' and her escort - the first time in history a human super-capital warship engaged an alien force directly.

The arrival of the fleet was largely considered to be the turning point in the build-up of the Human-Tyandirric War that represents the moment it became a "hot war". The FTL exit over Eridonia essentially confirmed to Imperial Naval Intelligence that the Tyandirr had a form of FTL Beacon somewhere in the Ruins of Eridonia, similar to the method used to deploy their fleets to Helia during the Battle of Helia cycles before.

This revelation led to an extensive search and recovery operation by Imperial Ground Forces operating under the Eridonia Task Force (ETF) on the surface of the ruins. The culmination of such efforts would occur several cycles later in 4521 A.D, after Ronin Kociero's son, Ashley Kociero, led an ATIS Military Unit to discover the beacon hidden deep in the tiered ruins of the city-world's corpse; shortly after the arrival of a much larger invasion fleet in what would be known as the second stage of the Second Battle of Eridonia; a deciding moment in human history in Aquarius.
